Flower Class Part 1

On Saturday my mom(www.crazystampinglady.blogspot.com ) and I hosted a 3-D Flower class. With all the rage of paper flowers right now we thought this would be a perfect theme for our monthly class....see the link above "upcoming events" to register for our next class-vintage! It's going to be great!
So for our flower class we made 4 projects and two additional flowers, plus we showed how to make a few other flowers! And everyone who attended gets a list of websites, blogs and catty pages with great flowers on them!
Above is one of the projects we made. It is a bookmark that the flower hangs over the front of the book and there is a knot at the bottom of the ribbon(that you can hardly see in the picture) the knot hold the book mark in place so it doesn't slip out!

The next flower project we made was a shadow box. Here you can see the finished project put together.
I wanted to show the box open since I was getting a bit of a glare. I came up with the cool water lily/Magnolia/white flower thing when I couldn't find anything "big" enough to "fill" the shadow box! I must say I really like it!

So here it is head on with no glass! Hope you like it!

And as always my little Makai with a dangerous look on her face...I am sure it means she was just getting into something! Some of the kids hanging out on the blanket outside...they all look a bit crazy! And then there is Zavian in the middle posing! My honey trying to pitch a wiffle ball! He was getting a bit crazy out there!Zavian chilling on the blanket! And then there was cake....

Here is a close up of the cake I made...it was a mini cake of Princess Tianaand all the little frog princes surrounding her!

Birthday Party invites!

So my 4 year old and I had a bit of a different opinion on what exactly the theme of her birthday party was. I was going for the whole Mardi Gras theme...while all she heard was Princess and the Frog. :) I am all about the theme!
We met somewhere in the middle...princess and the frog cake, balloons, paper goods and goodies with Gumbo, beads, alligator goodie boxes and frog invites!
So I had a plan to come up with a fast quick invite I could send out, since this life of mine has been a bit busy! So here is what I came up with...ok it was NOT quick and when you are making 20 of these little guys it was NOT easy either! BUT I think she was worth the work!~
Here are a bunch of them lined up! I sent them in CD envelopes, takes a bit of extra postage, but I thought it would be cute to see this through the window~

August Card Challenge

So for those of you that are stampin' up! demos, each month we get this great magazine from stampin' up! with ideas, contest, up comings and there is always a sketch layout in the back. Last month my mom was the winner of the card challenge for the crazy stampin ladies and she pick for us to do the sketch layout...so here is what I came up with! I love this set! These little kiddos are so darn cute! And so vintage! You can see in the picture below that I popped up the little girls skirt and the little boys books. The early espresso card base is spritz with smooch vanilla!
My challenge for next month is a Halloween card that is all black and white, and it must have spotlighting on it...that can and should be color!

Parks and Rec Class Wk 6

How cute is this card! At convention they showed a similar card (to be honest I have no clue what it looked like) BUT I did remember that it had a banner going across made from the tip of the star punch! Such a great use of that punch. The next card is very similar to one I showed a few months ago...this time with our Island Oasis DSP from the summer mini.
And the last one we did was popping pastels! Inspired by nature is still one of my favor it sets. I forget to use it, but whenever I pull it out I am always happy with the results!

Parks and Rec Class Wk 5

Woo Hoo! SO I started my next round of classes, the day before I left for convention.(Note to self-not the wisest thing I have ever done!) But it is a great group, so I am glad I did it. Here are the three cards we made the first week-week 5 for me! So does this look familiar? Yes I cased it!!! I think this is the card in the mini that convinced me into putting in a level 2 worthy workshop! To cute!
And this set. Artistic Etchings. I didn't even know if I needed it, until I started playing with it! Luv it!

Here we water colored with pencils. I haven't done that in a long time. Everyone seemed to like it though!
