March Challenge Card

I love this stamp! This month Julie won the card challenge and she selected a layout...FYI I hate layout challenges!!!! But I don't back down from a challenge, so here it is! The card had to be the layout as shown below and the colors could only be shades of brown (and vanilla) plus one extra color. I picked bashful blue! And I think it goes great with my Chocolate bunny! I have a funny feeling you will be seeing a lot more of him! I am not a huge chocolate fan, but there is something about Easter and Chocolate Bunnies!!! We don't know who the winner is since the meeting when we vote is today! I will keep you posted on the next challenge! Feel free to play along!

sponges!

So I sponge everything! Well not everything, but most of what I stamp. So I need those guys in reach at all times! I was getting frustrated with the container that I had them in so I decided to decorate a tin and just have them sit out on my desk! It is nothing fancy, but does the job!

Calla Lily Tin

I LOVE CALLA LILIES!

To me they are such a pretty flower with such a unique shape. And this time of year mine 5 plants are in full bloom! I figured what better then paper ones! And with stampin' ups ornament punch and small oval punch they are SO easy to make. So check out below the simple steps on how to create your own! Here is the front view of the tin I put them on.
(for give me for some of the pictures being side ways)

Step 1: What you need.

Punches:

small oval

ornament

Ink:

Creamy Carmel

Summer Sun

Old Olive

Card stock:

Summer Sun(big enough for one small oval to be punched)

Whisper White (big enough for one ornament to be punched)

Old Olive(2-3"x3/4" strips)

Other:

Mini glue dots

sponge for each color of ink

tombo mono multi glue

scissors

bone folder

******************************

Step 2: Distress, Punch, Cut and Sponge

Distress you paper by running your bone folder under it, and break down the fibers.

Punch one small oval from the summer sun card stock and trim the tip off.

Punch one ornament from the whisper white card stock and trim the "top" of it.

Cut the two strips of old olive card stock into "leaf" shape. These don't have to be perfect, but you may want to cut them together to come out with the same size, and try to use the majority of the strip in order to have large enough leaves.

Then sponge around the edge of all 4 pieces, on BOTH sides.-trimmed oval with summer sun ink, trimmed ornament with creamy caramel ink and leaves with old olive ink.
*****************************

Step 3: Curl
Take the trimmed small oval and roll it up, place a mini glue dot to hold it closed.
Curl the trimmed ornament "in" so that it will curve around when it is ready to assemble.
Curl both leaves as shown in picture.
*****************************
Step 4: Place one small dot of glue at base of trimmed ornament.
******************************

Step5: Attach center of flower
*****************************

Step 6: Roll and assemble
Roll edges of ornament in and place a mini glue dot to hold it in place.
Place a single glue dot towards the bottom of the straight part of one of the leaves, with the curl being placed out, and attach it to the other leaf(with the curl on that one being placed out as well)Then glue dot the flower to the leaves.
******************************

And there you are~

Hope you enjoy!

Lucky Heart!

Since good old St. Patty's Day is just around the corner...and I had some left over hearts from my "home" banner. I thought for my downline meeting I would have them make a lucky heart hanger. I really like the size of the chip board albums! So here it is!

Happy Birthdays....

I am so bad with dates! Really I forget everyone but my families birthdays! I can always seem to remember the month, but days, forget it! I am even worse at remembering to send out cards! So after the last few years of failed attempts to make sure the my side and down line get cards in time, I have come up with a new plan! We have large quarterly meetings for the entire Crazy Stamping Lady group. I have decided that everyone for the two months prior and that month are getting there cards then! So here they are, hopefully I didn't forget anyone!!! Simple but cute.
I used a few new products including the DSP pack from Sale-a-bration, the hugs notes and the new sale-a-bration boarder punch. Also the stamp is from Bitty Birthday Cheer!

Home sweet Home

I have this great shelf in my kitchen that I have some vintage looking frames and rooster sitting on...I love the way it looks but always felt it needed a little something hanging from it! So I decided to make a banner from our new heart shaped chip board. As you can see my kitchen walls are pretty darn close to ridding hood red, so I decided to pull out some old DSP and make it work! I used the swirly stencil out of the new stencil trio and embossed it then distressed over it. Hopefully my little ones don't put there hands all over it , and it last a little will in the kitchen!!! Here is an upclose look at the "O" you can see a bit more of the details this way.

February Challenge Card

Happy Sunday! Well as most of you know every month for my moms downline meeting we have a card challenge. I was the lucky winner for the last one so I got to pick the challenge for the next time. So I decided on polka dots and bird theme. Here is what I came up with for my entry... You can't win the challenge on the month you pick it. But I still think it is fun to play along!
I used the new Sweetheart set that is not in the catty or mini, but a special promo from SU! the set coordinates great with the heart shaped sweet treat cups we have! And it has this cute little bird in it! I also used the bitty birthday for the words, our new polka dot embossing folder and a varrity of our buttons.

My little Hula Baby!

So my Baby is turning two! Ok so she isn't going to be my baby much longer, considering that I am due with our third child in just over a month, but when she turns two on March 7th, she will technically still be my baby!!!
So we are having a luau...yes in march! And here are the invites! Here are two of the birds up close. I markered them instead of water coloring to make them go a bit faster.

And here are the rest. I did 24 in all. I think they turned out cute. The coral and turquoise aren't really my thing...but once I did them I was glad I did! So for supplies...the stamp set I used is a retired SU! set called tickled pink. I love this set and have not been able to let it go! My mom actually bought it for me years ago, before I liked stamping much, just because I love birds and flamingos! Everything else is current...DSP is called Pink Flamingo, Card stock and main colors are Tempting Turquoise, Cameo Coral, and Whisper White. As I said I markered the Bird and flower in, then put crystal effects over the all the flowers on the flamingo and the one popped up in the corner! Hope you like it!~
